couldn’t agree more! Just wish the movie wouldn’t have adopted feminism as its main premise if it all it was going to say was “cellulite is okay ladies! 🤩” Like girl, we know & we’ve got bigger issues to tackle here, lol.

I had high hopes for the movie, but I guess I really shouldn’t have expected anything too “radical” from a corporate/mainstream production like this. :(

Funny enough I haven’t watched Barbie yet, so to hear that it presents a surface level, one-size-fits-all take on feminism is disappointing. I mean, Gerwig is also the woman who directed Lady Bird, which I loved. Then again, that movie ended with Lady Bird going to a church, implying that Christianity is the key to being a happy woman, which I VERY much dislike. The public can’t digest anything deeper than lukewarm takes it seems
